Built at the beginning of the 20th century in the lowest part of the village to take advantage of the irrigation ditch, it has been providing service for more than 70 years.
It consists of a nave with two huge basins separated by a central area and two side areas which are accessed by stairs. Through the basins flowed the water channel in which the garments of the houses were washed. Approximately seventy working areas are estimated.

Renovación Lavadero Municipal
The town council of Alpera launched a project of reform and renovation with which it intends to give a facelift to one of the heritage resources of Alpera, the old Municipal Laundry, located in Los Huertos street. This is yet another action included in the Plan for the improvement of public spaces initiated at the beginning of the year by the municipal government group.
The work will try to recover its presence and essence as another space in this tribute to the culture of water and our women, given the importance it has had for the municipality as it was a meeting point for women who came daily to wash. This new action is for all of them, because if there is one thing we know for sure, it is that we cannot forget our cultural heritage of the customs and traditions of the people of Alpera.
The recovery and enhancement of the heritage, traditions and identity of a town is essential for the consolidation of the tourist product.
